Brother Printers use a special “reset” feature to help clear out the old ink from the system. This can be done by pressing the “reset” button found on the printer for about 10 seconds. Doing this will reset the estimated ink levels back to zero and help you get a better idea of how much ink you actually have left. It’s important to note that resetting the ink levels will not add any extra ink to the reservoirs. It’s just a way of indicating that there is no remaining ink in the system so that you can get a new cartridge as soon as possible.
