EPSON waste ink pad cleaning is a very normal and necessary operation when using EPSON printer. It is very important to clean the waste ink pad regularly to maintain the best performance of EPSON printer. The waste ink pad is a small sponge-like pad that is located at the bottom of the printer and absorbs all the excess ink from the print head as it passes through it.
To clean the waste ink pad, first turn off the power switch of the printer and unplug the power cord from the wall socket. Open the cover of the printer and locate the waste ink pad, it is usually located at the bottom right side of the printer. Carefully take out the waste ink pad and place it in a container. Fill the container with water and let the waste ink pad soak in it for a while. Then scrub the waste ink pad with a soft brush to remove any clogged residue.
Next, pour off the old water and rinse the waste ink pad with fresh water. Place the waste ink pad back in the container and fill it with a cleaning solution. Let the waste ink pad soak in the cleaning solution for a few hours. This will help to dissolve any remaining residue on the waste ink pad.
After the waste ink pad has soaked for a few hours, take it out of the cleaning solution and rinse it with distilled water. Put the waste ink pad back into its original position in the printer. Plug the power cord back into the wall socket and power up the printer. You have now successfully cleaned the EPSON waste ink pad.
It is advisable to clean the EPSON waste ink pad at least once a month to maintain the best performance of your printer. It is also important to make sure that you use the right cleaning solution in order to avoid damaging the waste ink pad. If you do not clean the waste ink pad regularly, it may cause the printer to stop printing or produce inferior quality prints due to clogging.
